Winter is drawing to a close and so are my days of calling a bag of Maltesers a snack…(although not really because Maltesters will always be welcome in my home). Nevertheless, every spring I try my best to eat better and promise to increase my fruits and veggies intake. This post is a list of smoothie recipes I found on Pinterest that I’m really excited to try this spring. Follow me on Snapchat: Gardriguez to watch as I try out these fun recipes and let you know what they’re like!
1. Coconut and Berry Smoothie
From the Blog: myfussyeater.com
I’m really excited to try this one because it’s also dairy-free! And although I’m not 100% vegan I’m definitely into cutting back on my dairy intake. My sensitive stomach will be grateful for this one.
2. Tropical Mango Smoothie
From the Blog: joyfulhealthyeats.com
I have to be real…This one just speaks to me in ways that I cannot describe. Although this smoothie screams summer I have it on my spring smoothie list because its the kind of sweet glory that you need in the Spring to get your blood ready for summer. This smoothie calls for a whole fresh mango too and because mango smoothies are like my absolute favourite if this recipe works out it might just be my new go to mango smoothie recipe.
3. Pineapple Spinach Green Smoothie
From the Blog: garnishandglaze.com
I’m quite curious about this one. That’s because I am notorious for avoiding smoothie recipes that call for spinach. Seriously, I can’t be the only person who hates the idea of liquid spinach! But I’m adulting these days which means that leafy greens, as many as I can get and as often as I can get, has got to become a way of life. I picked this recipe for my spring list because I love pineapple (its one of my favourite fruits) so if this is good then greens and I will finally be on good terms 😉
4. Triple Berry Kiwi
From the Blog: theprettybee.com
OMG that red colour! I’m so looking forward to creating this concoction. The main reason this smoothie is speaking to me right now is that I’m just getting over the flu which had me practically bed ridden for two days so the idea of this smoothie packed with Vitamin C and antioxidants is really exciting. Spring is weird. I mean here in Toronto we got snow in April! The weather keeps dipping and rising and during that up and down people get sick. But hopefully I don’t…again.
5. Ginger Banana Green Smoothie
From the Blog: fooduzzi.com
Another green smoothie!? Yea didn’t I mention that I would trying to adult and force myself to eat more greens? This smoothie is especially intriguing. I’m most excited to see how the almond milk, spinach, banana, and ginger play together in this sucker. I love ginger, and in a smoothie, why not I’ll try that too.
6. Hawaiian Berry Smoothie
From the Blog: thefirstyear.com
Ahhh Hawaii…I wish I was there right freaking now! Three years ago this April my husband and I went on our epic honeymoon backpacking through Southeast Asia and enjoyed a quick week in Hawaii on our way there. This smoothie is just calling to me right now and has me pining for Hawaii. I’m good for sweet smoothies, as by this point you’re probably recognizing a pattern with me. Green smoothie=gross (but must attempt) Sweet smoothies=good YAY yuuum. This one is an all fruit, no yogurt smoothie and I’m pumped to give it a shot.
7. Blackberry Smoothie
From the Blog: cakewhiz.com
This one is FULL of dairy, but for me that’s a good thing once in a while. I’m pumped about whipping up this recipe and indulge in the blackberry goodness. I love how purple this one looks in the pick and I hope that when I make it it looks just as purply and good!
8. Peach and Carrot Smoothie
From the Blog: primaverakitchen.com
Why is there a veggie smoothie on my Spring fruit smoothie recipes to try list? That’s because this puppy has peach in it as well and I’m really curious to find out how the two taste together. I haven’t had a peach carrot smoothie before, but I’m excited to give it a try!
9.Vanilla Mint Green Smoothie
From the Blog: 3boysunprocessed.com
Another green one? Yea I’m going there. But this one has vanilla! I’m hoping the green and mint are a good mix. I know it won’t be mint ice cream but a girl can dream can’t she! Who knows maybe this one will be my healthy go to version of it!
10. Blueberry Avocado Smoothie
From the Blog: runningwithspoons.com
This list is rounding up with a smoothie that contains one of my all time favourite smoothie ingredients…Avocado. In reasonable amounts avocado can be nutritious. And we of course know that its delicious. Avocados are actually one of those fruits that add creaminess to a smoothie without needing to add banana. WIN. Sometimes it gets boring to constantly rely on bananas for all the thickness in your smoothie.
