I love baking, especially when it’s for people I love! Maddie and Evie love when I make homemade treats for them, which of course are made with mucho mucho AMOR!
These parsley and mint treats are FRESH, so whatever isn’t eaten right away should be frozen and taken out to thaw when your pup is ready for more!
This recipe is 100% grain free and uses chickpea flour rather than oats or whole wheat. I also used organic ingredients, in addition to the organic herbs straight from our garden! If you have any questions about this recipe or need help please feel free to reach out to me, and I hope your pups love these homemade snacks as much as my two chis do!

Parsley and Mint Dog Treats
Grain-Free homemade treats with parsley and mint that freshen breath.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Chickpea flour
- 1 cup Water
- 1 tbsp Coconut oil
- 1/4 cup Fresh chopped Mint
- 1/4 cup Fresh copped Parsley
- 2 tbsp Flax Seeds
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a bowl, combine the Chickpea flour, coconut oil, water, and fresh herbs.
-
Knead the dough until ingredients are evenly dispersed.
-
Next, Roll out the dough on parchment paper, using extra chickpea flour as needed so it doesn't stick.
-
Roll out about 2-3cm thickness, and top with flax seeds.
-
Place the dough on the parchment paper onto the baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
-
Remove from the oven at 10 minutes and use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes, or use a knife to slice squares/rectangle shaped treats. Space them out on the sheet in preparation for the 2nd baking.
-
Put back into the oven for an additional 10 to 20 minutes so that the treats become extra crunchy. (time will vary based on your oven strength and how dry you'd like the treats to come out!)
-
Let treats cool before serving. These treats are best consumed fresh, but you can freeze any extra you have for up to 2 months!
